California Bank & Trust to Close Madera Branch

In an effort to cut costs, California Bank & Trust will close its Madera branch near the end of April. This news, while not great, is better than hearing that the FDIC closed it.

Six employees of the branch can apply for other positions within the bank, located at 126 N. D Street.

In a press release, Steven Borg, senior vice president and corporate marketing director for CB&T said “California Bank & Trust is proud to be part of the Central Valley community and is dedicated to building strong banking relationships. In the course of doing business, the bank routinely reviews ways to maximize efficiencies. Due to these normal business practices, CB&T today announced that their Madera branch … will be closing.”

He added that after the closure, customers are urged to continue doing business with a different bank, the Fresno branch at 5240 N. Palm Ave., Suite 100, or at the 7060 N. Fresno St. location in Fresno at well.

CB&T boasts more than $10 billion in assets and branch offices across the state.
