We just came upon a great site listing all the internet Scams for taking your money. It’s called Scamwarners.com.

Just the list of scams on the first page alone helped me understand how scamsters played the game all over the internet. Naturally, like you, I get the lottery winning emails and Benin or Nigeria letters saying someone would like to give me money if I help them and provide my own bank account details (after which they promptly empty the account).

But did you know about the employment offers where you deposit checks into an account, wire the money to a firm overseas, and then those checks bounce leaving you holding the bag?

Advance Fee Fraud – “419 scams” – promise a large sum of money (such as a charitable donation) or a valuable consignment (consignments of cash, gold, or black money)

Fraudulent check scams – Scams in which checks are mailed to you

Romance scams – Scams in which the scammer plays a love interest
